Created in 1975 this region is located in north central and eastern Scotland and has Dundee as it's biggest city. The region is predominantly concerned with agriculture, especially cattle farming and crops such as potatoes and oats.
The area is popular with tourists who visit the hilly north and west of the region for fishing, walking or climbing holidays. Tourists also visit the coastal areas where there are traditional seaside towns although the weather is not always conducive to a relaxing beach holiday.
