Located in the eastern area of England and bounded by the North Sea to the north and east, this flat county still maintains much of it's ancient charm. The area first found wealth as a producer of wool and was an affluent and densley populated region in medieval times. Things have changed greatly now though and although the county still earns much of it's wealth from the fertile land it is sparsely populated and quiet.
Many varied crops are grown and the area is noted for it's production of turkeys. Light industy is present in the larger towns but increasingly tourism is becoming more important. Areas of beauty such as the Norfolk Broads attract tourists for boating or seaside holidays whereas Sandringham, the Royal Family's country retreat, draws in those more interested in history
