Located along the North Sea coast in the east of England Lincolnshire's position has been both an aid to it's success and a hindrance. Initially it's close proxinity to Europe ensured that it bacame an important trading area, especially with the Danes whose influence can still be seen today. As the focus of attention switched to the industrial heartlands of England the county found itself isolated by it's location, it wasn't on the route to anywhere and the prosperity due to it's farming began to fade.
The beauty of the county has offered and additional source of employment as many people visit both the coastal resorts aswell as the relatively untouched inland villages.
