Introducing Tyrone
This was a county of Northern Ireland until the area was
reorganised in 1973. With Londonderry to the north and Fermanagh
to the east this region is centrally located.
The mountainous region to the north is popular with tourists
but the land is not extensively farmed. The river valleys
and flood plains however are very fertile and are farmed extensively.
Area. 1,260 square miles (3,263 square km).
