Located in the north of England this regions
manufacturing industries grew from the mining
of local coal together with the production of
wool. The area is still traditioanlly associated
with wool although the industries have diversified
considerably.
The main town of Leeds has battled back from severe recession
and has established itself as the cosmopolitan town of the
north attracting investment from many high profile stores
such as Harvey Nicholls and Selfridges together with modern
service industries to the region.
